Interlake Thunder Equipment & Deposit Policies

 

Support Commitment Deposit

 

At the time of registration every family will be charged a $100.00 support commitment deposit (One deposit per household). 

 

Please Note: The deposit cheque will be deposited.

 

The family can earn a refund on their support commitment deposit by working the required number of support shifts. 

 

A support shift includes activities such as;

 

  1. Game day stick crew

  2. Game day 50/50 sales 

  3. Game day clothing clothing sales

  4. Participate in a two hour commitment, requested by the Club.

  5. Supporting the Club as a team coach, team first aider or team manager for the entire season 

The support commitments will be Held in Trust and returned to the family, providing all support shifts are completed. 

 

No partial deposits will be refunded without Board approval. 

 

Support Shift Requirment For The 2025 Season

 

MGFA - 2 shifts per family

MMFA - 3 Shifts per family

MFLM -  3 Shifts per family

 

The number of Support Shifts required is subject to change based upon changes to League schedules

 

Equipment Deposit

 

All athletes who play football for the Interlake Thunder shall be issue all the equipment needed to participate in practices and games. The equipment is valued at over $500.00 per set, and is the property of the football club. Equipment is loaned to the athlete for the duration of the football season and shall be returned on one of the return dates, designated by the football club. The club will ensure that quality equipment is provided to the athlete and that it is in good working order when issued to the athlete.

 

The following items will be provided by the club:

 

  • Football Helmet

  • Football Shoulder Pads

  • Football Girdle

  • Football Knee Pads

  • Football Belt

  • Football Game Jersey

  • Football Game Pants

  • Football Game Socks

  • Football Practice Jersey

  • Football Practice Pants

 

While “general wear & tear” is expected to occur throughout the course of the football season, it is the responsibility of the athlete to maintain and care for the equipment that has been loaned to them. Instructions for care will be provided to the athlete by the club.

 

 

Beyond the equipment that the club provides, the athlete is responsible for their own footwear (cleats) and mouth guard.

 

When every athlete is issued equipment by the club, a deposit cheque must be provided in the amount of $200.00, per athlete. At this time an equipment form will be filled out and signed by the athlete or parent/guardian and the form shall display the value of the equipment issued. 

 

Please Note: All deposit cheque will be deposited.

 

(No Deposit, No Equipment, No Exceptions)

 

Equipment deposit cheques will be deposited within 5 business days being received. In any situation where this is not possible, the club will notify the family to inform them of the amended deposit date. Deposit cheques will be held in trust by the football club and the monies will be returned in full, when all equipment is returned in good working order, following the conclusion of the season. No discounts will be given on equipment deposits, as the value of the equipment greatly exceeds the deposit amount.

 

The football club will provide 4 equipment return dates (one date per team); if necessary the club will provide one final date for the athletes who could not attend their teams designated equipment return date. Any late equipment returns thereafter will be charged a $25.00 fee from their equipment deposit. Any equipment or uniform items that are returned unclean will be accepted at club discretion, but the club reserves the option to charge a $25.00 fee for each item requiring cleaning. If any equipment or uniform items are not returned to the club or if any items are damaged or tampered with, the club reserves the option to withhold the value of that item from the equipment deposit.

 

Interlake Thunder Care of Football Equipment

 

  • Helmets: Clean and tighten bolts every two weeks. Wipe inside and out with Fantastik or similar product.
  • Shoulder Pads: Turn pads upside down to air out. Every week, wipe inside & out with Fantastik or similar product. 
  • Pants: Remove pads, spray grass and dirt stains, wash cold, allow to air dry.  Do not use high heat!
  • Girdles: Wash inside out in cold water, allow to air dry.  Do not use high heat!
  • Jerseys: Wash inside out in cold water, allow to air dry.  Do not use high heat!

*Wash when soiled or at least once a week.

**Do not store wet or damp equipment.
